La Jolla

She was instrumental in locating the Scripps Institution of Oceanography in La Jolla and her home became the Contemporary Museum of Art. She also started Scripps Hospital and the Children’s Pool. The Children’s Pool now serves as a home to a group of Harbor Seals, who live, give birth, and play on the small beach. Every day, hundreds of onlookers come to view the seals in all their glory.
